Feed Media Group (FMG), a music technology company helping businesses incorporate music to create more engaging experiences, has signed a deal with electronic music powerhouse Insomniac that will bring tracks from its distributed artists and labels to the Adaptr library for easy licensing by startups and up-and-coming apps.

Adaptr subscribers can build a library of tracks from the service’s collection and make them available on-demand in their apps, greatly accelerating time to market by eliminating the need for direct licensing negotiations, all while ensuring rightsholders are paid for the use of their work. Tracks from Insomniac’s artists and labels will now join Adaptr’s growing catalog, which also includes music from Warner Music Group, BMG Records, Entertainment One (eOne), Equal Vision Records, Vio Mobile, and A-Train Distribution.

“We’ve been huge fans of Insomniac events and their catalog is perfect for a lot of our startups, especially for dance apps and digital fitness,” said Bryn Boughton, Head of Platform and Licensing at FMG. “People used to hear their music in clubs and festivals and now they’re enjoying the same songs as they get fit. “

“Insomniac is all about innovation, which is why we decided to team up with Adaptr,” said Joe Wiseman, Director of Insomniac Music Group. “Not only are we doing our part to push music tech forward, we’re also giving our artists and labels a fresh route to discovery.”

Insomniac got its start as an events company in the electronic music space, organizing the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and around the world, as well as Beyond Wonderland, Nocturnal Wonderland, the Electric Forest Festival, Bassrush, Basscon, and Dreamstate. After launching their own record label, Insomniac Records, they extended its scope outside of the standard model with the launch of Insomniac Music Group in 2018, a multi-faceted operation that connects the dots between various areas of the music industry. In addition to its existing umbrella of labels — which includes internal brand imprints such as HARD Recs, Bassrush Records, IN / ROTATION, Lost In Dreams, and the new Factory 93 Records, as well as artist-driven imprints like NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations, Fisher’s Catch & Release, Justin Martin’s What To Do, and Shiba San’s Basement Leak — Insomniac Music Group is a one-stop destination for music distribution, publishing house services, label management resources, marketing consultation, sponsorship pitching, and festival/club integration. With its ever-evolving roster and expanded business focus, Insomniac Music Group has cemented itself as the premier all-in-one dance music platform.

Adaptr is designed to accelerate time to market for early-stage companies: to qualify, the company must have raised less than $7.5 million in funding, and their app must be earning less than $4.5 million in annual revenue. The Starter package is just $69 a month and allows for instant licensing. Adaptr helps new businesses get to market immediately with hit music, without having to go through lengthy negotiations or infringe while they figure out their music strategy.
